Jason Liu is APABA Tampa Bay's new President for the 2012 - 2013 term. Jason was unanimously voted in during our Annual General Meeting held April 20, 2012. Tony was pleased to hand over the presidency to one so capable as Jason. All APABA Tampa Bay's members thank Tony for his stellar leadership as president for the 2011-2012 term. We shall continue his legacy. We await Jason's presidential message.
APABA Tampa Bay has new Officers and one new Director. Congratulations to Beejal as our new Director. Jin graciously stepped down as Director; and we thank her for her support and spirit. Jason is our new President, Tony is Vice President, and Vashti is Secretary to the Board. We thank Beejal for admirably handling the Secretary's functions for the 2011-2012 term.
Shannon Tan's Article in the Florida Bar Journal, April 2012. Shannon is published yet again. Shannon's article, "Don’t Waive Your Appeal: A Guide to Preserving Trial Error", showcases Shannon's research and writing acumen. Even if you aren't in appellate practice, once you are in practice, you need to pay attention to Shannon's guidance. Bravo Shannon.
SABA / APABA CLE on the new Florida Power of Attorney Act, April 11, 2012. Congratulations to Tara Rao and SABA for organizing this very successful session. The Real Property Probate and Trust Law Section of The Florida Bar through the diligent Mr. Lynwood Arnold, provided the speaker - the very capable Mr. William R. Lane of Holland & Knight LLP, Tampa. This is a new era in this area of Florida law and we were all edified through this CLE.
Jason Liu of Fowler White Boggs P.A. is once again in the news - Tampa Bay Times' readership was treated to an in-depth interview with Jason. The article appeared on March 25, 2012 - read it here. Jason shares details about himself, his career, and doing business in Asia. Now many more people will know Jason, an outstanding attorney and APABA member. Jason had another article focussed squarely on him recently. An article in the Gulf Coast Business Review highlighted Jason's work with Atlantic American Partners and the EB-5 Foreign Investors Program. Jason is notably quoted. And the legend continues.
Tony Tuntasit's Article in the recent NAPABA Newsletter. Tony's article, "Advice for the Law's Lost Generation" was recently featured in NAPABA's Newsletter. The article included quotes from Grace Yang, Cynthia Winter, and Peggy Nagae: it is a must read. Tony's nimble writing style is coupled with serious advice for new attorneys. Please encourage our colleagues to read this article.
Congratulations to Grace Yang. Grace was appointed Editor of the Hillsborough County Bar Association "Lawyer Magazine" for the second term. We are convinced that Grace does not sleep. She effortlessly performs an astounding amount of laudable tasks and duties with aplomb.
